These artworks are a direct result of my experience outside in the rugged landscapes of the central coast of California. On-site sketches and photographs combined with my own recollections of various times of day moving through the landscape inform each piece’s palette and overall aesthetic. Interacting with places that are still far away, difficult to get to, wild and minimally touched by humans I find particularly appealing! I look to create a mood that interprets, not an exact location, but a memory of a specific time and place.
